Remembering a momentous year pt.2

The projects...

The Committee wanted to celebrate not only across the 3 official days of the Jubilee but across the community and into the future.

The following official projects were created by the committee.

The beacon lighting and fireworks, the Jubilee concert in St Georges chapel, the schools feast, Jubilee ‘Picnic in the Park’, vintage car rally and fly over, the Long Table.

These set piece community events were supplemented by beach rugby, The Jubilee Ox Roast, Royal barge salute, the Jubilee song ‘The Long Walk’, The thousand voice choir, the community Long Walk concert, the schools musical instrument legacy, the Jubilee memorial book and the Jubilee Fountain.

I thought you might like to have a taste for the experiences as they occurred and I have posted my from the moment videos so you can feel the excitement.

Nobody was expecting 80,000 people. We had imagined only 2-3 thousand. We knew then it was going to be a historic weekend.
If you zoom in you can see me standing at the castle gates with Vicky in a white jacket.

A friend who was taking off out of Heathrow experienced this view
The beacon with the crowds behind and the snow hill beacon alight
